From Sling to Scepter

 "From Sling to Scepter"

From royal crown is born in pasture lands,
Silently watching and building his flock,
Learning courage, vigilance, and trust to walk,
Through humble hands, now trained for scepter’s plans.

The giant roared, a towering force of dread,
Yet David stood in faith, unshaken, still;
The stone flew true, made strong by holy will,
And pride lay fallen where the fearless fled.

Then came the wilderness of shadowed years,
Where Saul gave chase, and David would not yield;
He would not seize the crown, though power appealed,
But waited in the dark through blood and tears.

Now throne and scepter honor the humble man,
The shepherd’s trust is crowned by God’s own plan.
