Temple Rising

 "Temple Rising"

By sovereign writ, the sun can rise and reign.
From strewn dust, the Lord’s house will be made whole.
What was lost restored in body and soul.
A foreign court released its promise plain.

With praise and mourning mingled in the air.
Hope to rebuild rose with heartbreak and fear.
Tears in their eyes, and memory drawing near.
The house of God rose stone by stone with care.

The prophet rebuked those who felt too proud.
Those nobles who used brotherhood for gain.
He named their sin as power built on pain.
He called them back to mercy, clear and loud.

So grace restored what greed and grief had marred.
And God made holy work out of the hard.
